Bailey & Company Advises IME, Inc. on its acquisition by Ethos

NASHVILLE, TN (September 29, 2026): Bailey & Company announced today that it served as the exclusive financial advisor to IME, Inc. (Integrated Medical Evaluations, Inc.), a national provider of independent medical evaluations, chart reviews, and medicolegal support services on its acquisition by Ethos, a national leader in claims investigation and medical management services. Ethos is a portfolio company of Carousel Capital.
IME, Inc.’s platform spans IME scheduling and coordination, medical record retrieval and processing, coordination of expert testimony, and access to an extensive network of credentialed physicians. The acquisition meaningfully strengthens Ethos’ national independent medical evaluation capabilities and broadens the scope of medicolegal solutions available to its attorney, law firm, carrier, and TPA clients.
IME, Inc. brings focused expertise in independent medical evaluations and expert testimony coordination, an extensive network of board-certified physicians, and a streamlined, proprietary case-management workflow. These capabilities complement and extend Ethos’ existing medical management portfolio, which spans IME, case management, utilization review, peer review, bill review, and Medicare solutions.
“IME, Inc. has earned a strong reputation among attorneys and law firms for getting the right evaluators, answers, and testifying experts to their clients quickly, without sacrificing quality,” said Micah Smith, CEO of Ethos. “Their physician relationships, their responsiveness, and their strong reputation are exactly what we look for in a partner. Together, we’re giving law firms, carriers, and TPAs a deeper, more connected bench of IME and medicolegal resources nationwide.”
IME, Inc. has built its business around delivering IMEs and expert testimony coordination with the urgency each case requires, developing long-standing relationships with its physician panel that allow it to accommodate active litigation schedules and complex, multi-jurisdictional needs. The company will continue to operate with its existing team and leadership in place, ensuring continuity of service for current IME, Inc. clients while opening access to the broader Ethos platform over time.
“Joining Ethos is a strong step forward for our clients and our team,” said Bill Hombach, President of IME, Inc. “We share a commitment to delivering measurable value and treating every client relationship as a long-term partnership. Becoming part of Ethos gives us scale, complementary services, and shared technology investments that will benefit the attorneys, firms, and organizations we serve.”
Ethos maintains national licensure and leading compliance standards across its operations, including URAC, HIPAA, SOC 2 Type 2, and ISO-aligned infrastructure. The addition of IME, Inc. reinforces Ethos’ position as a complete platform partner, bringing a comprehensive suite of investigations, medical management, utilization and peer review, case management, independent medical evaluations, bill review, and pharmacy services under one connected brand.
Ethos is an enterprise-scale, full-spectrum, compliance-grade platform for carriers, law firms, and TPAs to build their own workflows on throughout the entire claim lifecycle.
This acquisition advances Ethos’ continued strategy of uniting top-performing organizations in providing better outcomes, transparency, and innovation across the claims process.
